New joint venture between Mama Media Group and Luna media Group / mamaundbaby.de goes online

New joint venture between Mama Media Group and Luna media Group / mamaundbaby.de goes online

Berlin/ Amsterdam, 08.08.2016: Mama Media Group, market leader in the Netherlands in the sector pregnancy and families with children up to 16 years, and Luna media Group, the b2b and b2c market specialist in Germany in the sector children’s fashion and family lifestyle, have found a new joint venture.

It’s a done deal: The Luna media Group has a new partner. Mama Media Group (MMG) is one of the Netherlands’ leading multimedia publishers with a strong digital focus and has been on the market for more than 10 years. With 8 websites including Mamaenzo.nl, Fabmama.nl, Babybrabbel.nl, Mama&Family.nl, JMouders.nl and Mamahaves.com, 2 magazines and one of the most successful pregnancy apps, MMG is the biggest network in the Netherlands in the parenting sector and reaches about 2,5 million mothers per month.

“We are very pleased about this cooperation and want to change the digital media landscape in Germany”, says Uwe Schröder, Managing Director of Luna media Group. He adds: We’ve been specialising in the German parenting market since 1998 and have been very active in the family lifestyle segment since 2005 with Luna, Germany’s first fashion and lifestyle magazine for the family. That’s why this collaboration is mostly about an exchange of know-how with the aim of establishing new and successful joint projects.”

The first joint project has already been completed by the newly established familytainment Media GmbH: On August 1st the new web portal for young families mamaundbaby.de was launched, based on the successful Dutch online family magazine mamaenzo.nl. Mamaundbaby.de supports young families through the pregnancy, birth and infant stages of parenthood, by giving tips and new insights to young mothers and fathers.

“We have set ourselves challenging targets with the Luna media Group. We are convinced that the new German web portal will be as successful as the sister product”, says Alex Stempels, Managing Director of MMG, pointing to the current key figures of mamaenzo.nl. This web portal, which counts 1 million users per month and 245.000 newsletter subscribers, is the most successful web portal for families in the Netherlands. Further new projects are planned for the current year. With an expected turnover of more than 7 million Euros for 2016, the familytainment Media Group is one of the largest media companies in the parenting and family sectors and offers market players a unique digital and print portfolio.

Relocation of Luna Media’s headquarters to Berlin

Relocation of Luna Media’s headquarters to Berlin

The headquarters of Luna media was transferred into the new editorial offices in Berlin-Mitte, Zimmerstraße 90, close to the historical Checkpoint Charlie. With the relocation from Cologne to Berlin, the publisher sets itself new standards for its titles. Especially the modern and refreshing ‘zeitgeist’ of the fashion and media metropolis should be captured and reflected in the prospective editions in order to further promote the unique characteristic of the only German high fashion kids’ fashion magazine Luna as well as the trend magazine Luna mum that addresses pregnant and young women.

General manager Uwe Schröder views the new location in the heart of Berlin as an opportunity to establish new contacts and create symbioses. ‘In our extensive premises we do have the option to offer companies a showroom. In our personal photo studio we can produce fashion and interior series. This enables us to expand our business segments – the publishing and event sector – by a production unit with photo and video productions and are able to offer clients a full-service support.’
